Jessie Parker - Chair of Board

I was born and educated at Stanton Hill and worked in the hosiery trade until I started my own retail outsize clothing business in Sutton in 1980, retiring in 2000. I am married with two daughters and one grandchild and have lived in Sutton-in-Ashfield all my life, where I have been a Primary School Governor for over twenty years. I have recently served as a Councillor on Ashfield District Council for four years and take a keen interest in local politics.

I have lived in Huthwaite on and off since 1958.  I lived in London for 14 years and worked as a commodity broker and as a professional musician.  I have been a pub landlord and club steward.  I enjoy people’s company and socialise with friends and family.  I am an ex Vice-Chairman of Scrutiny Committee and have experience of other Council committees.

When I saw the position of the Independent Board Member advertised I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to get involved in my local area and hopefully use my skills and knowledge on the board, it is also a chance for me to learn more about another field and develop my skills further.

Mike Hardy

My name is Mike Hardy, I am retired and a tenant in Hucknall where I live with my second wife Barbara. I have an adopted family of one daughter, two sons, eight grandchildren and nine grandchildren. I enjoy Formula 1 motor-racing and computers. I would like the opportunity to get more involved in the local community, I have the time and the commitment to represent the tenants of Hucknall, I consider myself to be an excellent team player able to objectively assess situations and to contribute to the decision making process. I do not possess any professional skills, I am just an ordinary bloke that has worked all his life and would now like to put a little something back and develop the necessary skills to serve the best interests of Ashfield Homes, Ashfield tenants, leaseholders and wider community.

Murray Timmons

Mr Timmons has a wide working experience within both the Coal Industry and Local Government. He was Union representative for his specialisation whilst with the mining industry, and was involved in the safety aspects of the industry, the benefits of which he is able to bring to the Board of Ashfield Homes Ltd.
