The Ashfield Homes Tenants Gateway

What is the Tenants Gateway?

The Tenants Gateway consider proposals for service developments and innovation, improvements to policies and procedures, and consult on Company business.

How can I become a gateway representative?

A maximum of 16 tenants representing all areas of the district are recruited onto the Gateway.

Representatives stand for terms between a minimum term of 1 year and a maximum term of 4 years. This will mean that four members of the Gateway would stand down each year.  Membership opportunities will be advertised widely. There will be  proportional representation from all geographical areas:

Please note that we are still recruiting to the Tenants Gateway and require 2 further members from the Hucknall area.

  • 6 members for Sutton-in-Ashfield,
  • 4 members for Hucknall,
  • 4 members for Kirkby-in-Ashfield,
  • 2 members for the rural areas of the district, which includes Selston, Westwood, Jacksdale and Underwood.

Special interest seats

In addition to the 16 seats there will be a further 4 special interest seats available at each meeting. The special interest seats will be to accommodate non regular attendees. Tenants will be able to apply for the seats prior to the next meeting. See our events calendar for the next meeting and contact our Tenant Participation Officer to apply.

What is involved?

Meetings are every 2 months and last about 2 hours. Information is sent out before the meetings in plenty of time to ensure that representatives can read up on agenda items. The meetings are attended by senior service managers from Ashfield Homes.
